The tour is jam packed with fun and adventure and will keep you going from daylight to dark each day so you will burn up lots of energy.

Accommodation:

Accommodation on the tour is camping in swags under the stars with a good mix of natural bush land settings and camping grounds. Swags and bedding provided. Upgrades to pub accommodation can be arranged and cost $25 per person per night extra. If you would like to upgrade accommodation please confirm at the time of booking so availability can be confirmed.

Tour Departs:

07:10am Departs Sydney every Tuesday from Sydney Central Station on CountryLink rail/coach connection to Dubbo. On arrival in Dubbo you transfer to the coach then onto Bourke. At 18:46pm on arrival in Bourke you will be collected and taken to your backpackers share accommodation. Dinner and breakfast will be provided.
09:30am Wednesday you will be collected by our Out the Back Australia tour guide (in-house transfer) from your backpacker’s accommodation and will depart Bourke for Cunnamulla arriving in Queensland’s Outback in time for lunch and then enjoy a free afternoon to relax and unwind.

Mud Bath at Eulo is an optional extra and is $65 per person. We highly recommend this unique experience.


Meals:
All meals are provided on the tour including breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day as outlined in the itinerary. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated so please confirm at time of booking so we can ensure there is lots of fresh healthy food to suite your needs.


Transfers/Entries:
In-house transfer Bourke to Cunnamulla on day two is included.
Daily collection to and from accommodation is included.
All entries are included as per itinerary.
In-house transfer Cunnamulla to Bourke day nine is included.


Accommodation:
All accommodation on the tour is camping in swag (bed roll) under the stars in a good mix of natural bush land settings and camping grounds. Swags and bedding provided. All site fees included.


Travel:
Travel to and from Cunnamulla on CountryLink rail/coach connection is included in the price. On arrival in Bourke your night’s accommodation is included. You will be collected from your accommodation in Bourke at 09:30 by Out the Back Australia in house transfer travelling to Cunnamulla the starting point for the tour. Travel during the tour is included in our mini coach.
There is an option to depart to Brisbane for the return leg of your travel at no extra cost so you do not have to backtrack. If you would like to take this option please confirm at time of booking tour.

Day 1 Tuesday (D)
07:10am Departs Sydney every Tuesday from Sydney Central Station on CountryLink rail/coach connection to Dubbo. On arrival in Dubbo you transfer to the coach then onto the heritage town of Bourke.
18:46pm on arrival in Bourke you will be collected from the station and taken to your backpackers share accommodation. Dinner and breakfast will be provided.

Overnight in Bourke.



Day 2 - Wednesday (D)

09:30am You will be collected (in-house transfer) from your backpacker’s accommodation and will depart Bourke for Cunnamulla. As we travel this heritage route a visit to the Barringun Pub located half a mile south of the Queensland New South Wales border will be a real highlight. The only Pub in town servicing a tiny population publican 86 year old Mary Cawley can tell some tales from her 34 years servicing this tiny outpost. The Tattersalls Hotel Barringun was originally established in the 1870's and is still the original Building. Arriving at Out the Back Australia headquarters in time for lunch enjoy a free afternoon to relax and unwind before your arrival dinner.

Day 3 - Thursday (B, L, D)
Depart for the heritage town of Eulo, browse local galleries, enjoy a couple of beers at the Eulo Queen Hotel and discover the iconic Isabella Robinson the “Eulo Queen”. Heading to Yowah where you will camp tonight. Yowah is the only place in the world you can find a type of opal called a Yowah Nut.

Day 4 - Friday (B, L, D)
Tour Yowah
with a local including the Bluff. Fossick for your very own Yowah Nut a special type of opal that can only be found at Yowah. Depart for Cunnamulla mid afternoon and immerse yourself with larger-than-life characters and enjoy a beer and yarn with the locals and some traditional Aussie tucker at the Cunnamulla Bowling Club.

Day 5 - Saturday (B, L, D)
After a big night with the locals you get to have a sleep in. Wake naturally to the singing Australian native birds and help yourself to a continental breakfast or wander to the Out the Back Australia headquarters for a cooked breakfast. Once everyone is on the move we will head for the magnificent Warrego River to embark on a kayak journey along the windy banks lined with a canopy of ancient river gums, wildlife and birdlife. Lunch will be at a secluded spot along the way under a shady Coolabah tree that the late Banjo Patterson made famous in his poetry.
The afternoon offers a couple of hour’s free time to do anything you like. Push bikes are available if you fancy going for a ride. For those that rested you could now be at an advantage as we head for the adrenalin rush of sandboarding and sledding down the massive natural sand dunes. Tonight’s dinner will be a grand feed of roasted lamb and veggies while you sit back with a cool drink and soak in the peaceful ambience. Sit around the campfire and take the unique opportunity to master the ancient Aboriginal art of playing the didgeridoo, watch the star filled skies or have a sing along.

Day 6 - Sunday (B, L, D)
The morning commences with an early breakfast as we depart for the morning’s adventures at Rocky Station. Another opportunity to stroll along the banks of the Warrego River on the “Wallaby Walk” so keep your eyes open and be quiet so you can spot one of these cute little fellas often seen at the water’s edge.

Act out your “Indiana Jones” fantasy and navigate your way across the 70 meter swinging footbridge, never before open to the public. Arriving at the homestead, have morning tea and relish in the friendly country hospitality offered by station owners Chris and Mike Webster.

After leaving Rocky Station we head for Charlotte Plains farm stay where you may meet station owner Robyn Russell. We will explore this magnificent property starting with the Artesian bore head where you will camp tonight. There will be many photo opportunities as you look at the spectacular sunset with the historical “Turnworth” Artesian bore in the foreground. Imagine laying back under a rich blue sky soaking up all the therapeutic goodness of the warm Artesian waters in natures very own spa bath, kangaroos, emu’s, sheep and cattle all wander freely and you are surrounded by nature for as far as you can see. It really doesn’t get much better than this!

Tonight you will be served great bush tucker in a magnificent outback setting. You will enjoy the evening sitting around the campfire sharing a yarn about your day’s experiences and enjoying some great bush entertainment as you immerse yourself in the outback culture.

Day 7 - Monday (B, L, D)
Experience the outback sunrise
an experience of a lifetime with breathtaking views you will never forget. See an abundance of Australian bird and wildlife including large numbers of kangaroos and emu’s all in its natural environment. You will learn to make “Billy Tea” and “Damper” from a true blue Aussie. Enjoy the wide open spaces, clean green air and the great hospitality on a property almost the size of Singapore.

Day 8 - Tuesday (B, L, D)
Depart Charlotte Plains for Cunnamulla, take a historical town tour and visit local industry including state of the art organic farming. Sit back relax and enjoy a sunset river cruise on the Warrego River with our local tour guide. You will experience an explosion of nature as you cruise the tranquil waters soaking up the outback ambience. Tonight’s dinner will be a grand feed while you sit back with a cool drink and enjoy the local entertainment.

Day 9 - Wednesday (B)
05:00 visitors from Sydney commence their return trip departing Cunnamulla for Bourke where you will board the CountryLink coach/rail service back arriving in Sydney at 20:49pm. ENDS.
If you choose to transfer to Brisbane so you do not have to Backtrack this is the itinerary!


Today feel a part of history unfolding as you explore the historic cemetery and uncover tales of characters and Cunnamulla legends. Then have your final evening enjoying the characters as you complete an Aussie pub crawl at all the local’s watering holes before completing your adventure with a farewell dinner.

Thursday (B)
06:00 - Rise early for breakfast before bidding a fond farewell to your new outback mates.
06:45 – Depart Cunnamulla for your return travel arriving in Toowoomba at 16:00, connect to Greyhound Coach service departing Toowoomba 17:00 and arrive at Brisbane Transit Centre 18:40. ENDS.
