The tour is designed for families and the level of fitness can be modified to meet your individual requirements and the age of your children.


Accommodation during this tour is en-suite basic 3 Star however clean and comfortable. Upgrades are available at your expense. If you prefer to travel in a caravan or campervan or camp the tour price can be adjusted to reflect your choice of accommodation. Contact us for details.

Mud Bath at Eulo is an optional extra and is $65 per person. We highly recommend this unique experience.

All meals are provided on the tour including breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day as outlined in the itinerary.  Special dietary requirements can be accommodated so please confirm at time of booking so we can ensure there is lots of fresh healthy food to suite your needs and the needs of your family.

Travel to and from Cunnamulla the starting point for the tour is not included however is available at extra cost if required. You are able to book land only packages and arrange your own transport to the starting point for the tour or you can book fully inclusive point to point travel packages that include inbound and outbound transport.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Wednesday (D)
Tour starts at 15:00 in Cunnamulla.  On arrival meet the friendly staff at Out the Back Australia.  Enjoy afternoon tea before being checked into your accommodation.  Sit back and relax as you cruise the Warrego River with a local enjoying the tranquil surrounds, history, bird and wildlife capped off by a magnificent sunset.  Dinner tonight is served around a huge campfire with local entertainment were you can enjoy a 3 course dinner including locally grown organic lamb.

Overnight Cunnamulla – Accommodation is en-suite basic 3 Star however 5 Star bedding, bed linen and towels are used for your comfort.


Day 2 - Thursday (B, L, D)
Travel to Yowah the only place in the world where you can fossick for your own “Yowah Nut”, a special type of opal only found around Yowah.  Explore the open cut opal mines and tour of Yowah and the Bluff with a local miner.  Visit one of the local opal galleries and watch a display of opal cutting and polishing.  As night falls relax and enjoy the night sky under an amazing blanket of outback stars.  Share some yarns and a great dinner with the locals.

Overnight Yowah – Accommodation is en-suite basic, clean and comfortable however 5 Star bedding, bed linen and towels are used for your comfort.  Shared facilities.


Day 3 - Friday (B, L,)
Depart Yowah for the heritage town of Eulo and visit the Mud Springs before embarking on the sights of Eulo.  Continue to Cunnamulla for a tour of the town and local industries and then get the adrenalin pumping as you sand board down the natural dunes.  Enjoy a hearty lunch before bidding your new mates a fond farewell.  Ends 14:30.

Wer wirklich etwas von dem Leben im Outback Australien erfahren möchte, dem kann ich die 9 Tages Backpacker Tour von Outtheback Australia nur ans Herz legen. Ich habe in den 9 Tagen rund um Cunnumulla so viel vom realen Leben im Outback mitbekommen, wie auf keiner anderen Tour bisher. Meine Tour war insofern etwas Besonderes, als sie die Weihnachtstour 2011 war. Peieta und Trevor haben mir gezeigt, wie der Alltag auf Schafsfarmen aussieht und wie die Scherer arbeiten. Dabei bestand immer die Möglichkeit zum Gespräch mit den Farmern.  Überhaupt der Kontakt zu den Einheimischen und das Gespräch mit Ihnen wird auf der Tour groß geschrieben. Ein besonderes Erlebnis war es Weihnachten in Mitten einer australischen Familie zu feiern.
